WRT Showcase
COP30 Event
As part of the COP 30 Global Climate Action Agenda, this event will showcase the Water Resilience Tracker initiative’s ongoing effort to improve water resilience in Brazil.
Date: 11 November
Time: 9:30-10:30
Place: Axis 4 Thematic Room - Global Climate Action hub -Blue zone
Partners: WRT, the Brazilian National Water Authority (ANA), Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA), and the Federal University of Ceará
This event will showcase the Water Resilience Tracker initiative’s ongoing effort to improve water resilience in Brazil, specifically highlighting our collaboration with the Brazilian National Water Authority (ANA), Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA), and the Federal University of Ceará.
The partners will share concrete results from Phase I and discuss our ongoing implementation of Phase II, which expands the WRT’s capacity building work in 6 river basins, including the development of a guide for climate-resilient basin management, and supports the implementation of Brazil’s first ever sectoral NAP for water.
We will also hear from funding partners, including the UK, on how they are approaching water resilience in their partner countries, and how we can leverage increasingly scarce donor funding to build a pipeline of investible water resilience projects.
The format for the event will include an initial presentation of the Water Resilience Tracker in Brazil, followed by a discussion among the partners and the audience.
Participants will be invited to hold a broad discussion on how water resilience can be better integrated into national climate planning instruments like NDCs and NAPs, with examples from Brazil and elsewhere including Nepal, Malawi, and Panama.
