From Climate Commitments to Water Resilience: How the WRT is Supporting Diagnosis and Delivery

  • COP31 Water for Climate Pavilion Antalya Türkiye (map)

Last year, countries submitted updated NDCs, with water continuing to feature prominently in national climate commitments. The challenge now is turning these commitments, alongside NAP priorities, into practical action that strengthens water resilience at national, basin and local levels.

WRT Event

Organizers: Arup, AGWA, GIZ, Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office

The WRT and JTWS bring together complementary approaches to help countries move from diagnosis to delivery. This includes identifying key water resilience challenges and opportunities, strengthening the institutions and policy frameworks needed for implementation, translating national priorities into action at basin level, and supporting the prioritisation and financing of key projects.

In this session, we will share emerging experience from the WRT about what it takes to move from climate commitments to implementation. Together with attendees, we will explore the barriers and opportunities for accelerating delivery, identify practical actions that can strengthen water resilience, and consider how the WRT and its partners can better support countries to turn NAP and NDC commitments into tangible outcomes.
